Scholarship

UniSA offers a range of scholarships to support international students in their academic journey. These scholarships are designed to recognize academic excellence, provide financial assistance, and encourage global engagement.

1. Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship

  • Value: 50% reduction in tuition fees for up to four years of full-time study.

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Prospective international student.

    • Eligible to study in Australia.

    • Not have accepted any other UniSA scholarship or bursary.

    • Meet normal degree admission requirements for the degree applied into.

    • Achieved the UniSA equivalent of a high distinction average in previous studies.

    • Meet the minimum English language entry requirements for the degree applied into.

  • Application Process: Eligible applicants will be advised of the outcome along with their academic degree assessment.

  • Conditions: Recipients must maintain a Grade Point Average of at least 5.0 to continue receiving the scholarship.

  • Note: This scholarship cannot be deferred.

 

2. International Merit Scholarship

  • Value: 15% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the chosen degree.

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Prospective international student.

    • Eligible to study in Australia.

    • Not have accepted any other UniSA scholarship or bursary.

    • Meet normal degree admission requirements for the degree applied into.

    • Achieved the UniSA equivalent of a credit average (GPA 5.0) or above in previous studies.

    • Meet the minimum English language entry requirements for the degree applied into.

  • Application Process: Automatically assessed when applying for an eligible undergraduate (Bachelor) or postgraduate (Masters by Coursework) degree offered at UniSA.

  • Conditions: Recipients must remain enrolled on a full-time basis and maintain satisfactory academic progress.

 

3. International Research Tuition Scholarship (IRTS)

  • Value: Full tuition fee waiver for a maximum of four years for PhD students and up to two years for Master of Research students.

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Commencing international research degree students.

    • High quality with demonstrated research capability, as assessed by UniSA.

    • Supported by a strong supervisory panel and enrolled in a research-rich environment.

    • In receipt of (or been awarded) a fully externally funded stipend scholarship, or in receipt of a living stipend supported by external funding.

  • Application Process: Apply for a research project and scholarship simultaneously.

  • Conditions: Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress and comply with visa requirements.

 

4. Australia Awards Scholarships

  • Value: Fully funded (tuition, living allowance, flights, etc.).

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Citizens of eligible partner countries (mainly in the Indo-Pacific region) pursuing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study.

  • Application Process: Apply through your country’s Australian embassy or through UniSA’s scholarship portal.

  • Conditions: Recipients must comply with the terms and conditions set by the Australian Government.

 

5. UniSA Online Aboriginal Grant

  • Value: $5,500, paid in three instalments.

  • Eligibility Criteria:

    • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student.

    • Enrolled in a UniSA Online program that is a minimum of two years duration.

    • In their first academic year, at census date.

    • Full-time or part-time load.

  • Application Process: Applications open twice a year in Study Period 1 and Study Period 4.

  • Conditions: Recipients must remain enrolled in their UniSA Online program and maintain satisfactory academic performance.
