The Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) qualifies individuals who apply a broad and coherent body of sociological knowledge, concepts and theories to the systematic study of human societies. It enables graduates to operate professionally as strong analysts of trends and structures in contemporary society, based on acquired understanding of cultural and economic history, civil society, ethnicity, gender and intimacy, globalisation, migration, multiculturalism and popular culture. Graduates will develop research and project management skills enabling them to pursue further learning in honours and higher degree research or postgraduate studies in teaching.
