The program is designed to prepare students for a career in diagnostic medical, research or other similar laboratories. The Honours program aims to augment the academic and practical skills of undergraduate students. Those students electing to complete a technical paper will further develop their analytical skills and be afforded a competitive edge in the employment market for a career in diagnostic pathology
The first two years provide a comprehensive coverage of the natural and biomedical sciences, followed in the third and fourth years by instruction and practical experience in the major disciplines in pathology. The total number of units required to complete the program is 144. Embedded within this structure are 18 units of work toward either a research or technical paper. These units are undertaken in the fourth year of the program.
