University of Limerick

What you must know about UL scholarships

  • UL runs partial, merit-based scholarships for non-EU applicants (undergraduate and postgraduate). You are automatically reviewed for eligible awards when you submit your programme application. If successful, the scholarship decision is included with your offer letter.

  • Many scholarships are college/discipline-level (awarded by faculty/school) rather than a single central grant — check the faculty page for programme-specific awards.

Campus: Large, scenic campus along the River Shannon (the “Living Campus”) with modern facilities, student accommodation, and campus services.

Programmes offered: UL provides wide choice — full alphabetical lists of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes are published on the UL site. UL reports 200+ postgraduate programmes and a very broad undergraduate portfolio.

Mode of study: On-campus, blended and online professional/part-time programmes are available — UL’s “Learn Online @ UL” materials describe supports for remote/blended learning.

Rankings & impact: UL appears in THE and other global rankings (THE World University Rankings 501–600 band; strong THE Impact and subject rankings for some areas). Use official ranking pages for the most current banding.
