Energy Science and Engineering - Postgraduate Diploma

The Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Science and Engineering, launching in September 2024, addresses the pressing need for qualified professionals in energy-related disciplines. Aligned with UL's Sustainable University Strategy 2030 and the UN Sustainability Development Goals, the program emphasizes interdisciplinary expertise in energy generation, distribution, storage, and sustainability.

 

Being a two semester degree, the PGDip in Energy Science and Engineering programme will allow students from related technical degrees to swiftly specialise in a field that urgently needs qualified people. The energy sector is rapidly evolving and in critical need of properly skilled individuals. The PGDip in Energy Science and Engineering, and its sister programme, the MSc in Energy Science and Engineering, are designed for graduates of technical courses. It responds to industry needs, ensuring graduates are equipped with the skills to drive our necessary journey towards a sustainable, zero-carbon economy.  Covering diverse aspects of energy, from generation to storage, the programme bridges the gap between science and engineering. This programme is eligible for HCI Pillar 1 funding which been secured to fund full fees for up to 10 Irish/EU students.
