At the University of Adelaide, we’ve made a habit of breaking new ground. We were our state’s first university. The first in Australia to admit women to all our degree courses on an equal basis to men. The first to offer degrees in science and business. And the first to establish a conservatorium of music.

In recent times, that spirit of innovation has only grown stronger. For example:

  • we were one of only three universities in the world to be involved in each of the following major scientific discoveries: gravitational waves; the Higgs boson elementary particle; and a celestial source of high-energy neutrinos
  • we’re currently co-leading creation of the world’s first definitive legal text on conflict in space
  • our photonics and advanced sensing researchers have created the world’s most precise timepiece, known as the Sapphire Clock
  • in each of the past two years, we’ve had a young researcher recognised in MIT Technology Review’s prestigious Innovators Under 35 list for the Asia Pacific; we were the only Australian university represented in 2020, and in 2019 we were one of just two.

Scholarship

Global Citizens Scholarship

For students who have received academic merit.

This scholarship rewards international students commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification who have received academic merit in their studies. Students can receive a reduction between 15% and 30% of the tuition fee.

Higher Education Scholarship

Rewarding students with a loyalty to education.

The Higher Education Scholarships rewards undergraduate and postgraduate international students who have demonstrated their passion for learning and loyalty to Australian education by successfully completing their year 12 high school studies (undergraduate only) or AQF-recognised course or program at an Australian higher education institution, prior to commencing their degree at the University of Adelaide. The scholarship offers a 25% tuition fee reduction for the minimum standard full-time duration of the scholar's chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

Alumni Scholarship

For students with a passion for learning.

We value our students and appreciate your passion for learning and loyalty to the University of Adelaide. Receive a 25% tuition fee reduction if you’re completing a second or subsequent degree at Adelaide. As a graduate, you’ll automatically receive this scholarship, and if you study full-time and complete your degree within the minimum timeframe, you’ll receive a 25% tuition fee reduction each year of your degree.

Global Academic Excellence Scholarship

For students with demonstrated academic excellence.

These scholarships reward commencing undergraduate and postgraduate coursework international students who have demonstrated academic excellence in previous studies. The scholarship offers a 50% tuition fee reduction for the minimum standard full-time duration of your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
