University of Newcastle

About the University

Dedicated to our core values of equity, excellence, engagement and sustainability, the University of Newcastle is a globally recognised education institution committed to solving the world's greatest problems.

We are committed to our journey towards being a culturally responsive organisation - developing and embedding policies and protocols of how we work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and communities will enhance our relationships, trust and the results we can achieve together.

Our Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan

A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a valuable tool to create strategic, sustainable, and measurable promotion of reconciliation. They are designed around three pillars:

Scholarship

Africa Excellence Scholarship

This is a merit-based scholarship that recognises applicants with a strong academic background and incentivises them to continue striving to be the best that they can be.

Scholarships will automatically be awarded to students who have received an offer to study in an eligible, non-quota program and who will commence studying with the University of Newcastle.

Scholarship payment

The scholarship is valued at AU$10,000 for each year of study under full-time study load apportioned over each course taken, equating to a value of $1250 per course.
