This award is designed to increase and develop early years practitioners’ opportunities to participate professionally in Irish language linguistic and cultural ECEC vocational contexts and working life, i.e. naíonraí and réamhscoileanna within and outside the Gaeltachtaí. It has also been designed to prepare those who are interested in applying for entry to the PME (Professional Masters in Education-Primary Teaching)

 

This award will equip all students with the linguistic proficiency to enable them to work meaningfully and to be confident in vocationally oriented language use in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and as well as helping students achieve the PME Irish requirement and Irish language entry interview. It can also act as a language refresher course for primary teachers in English-medium schools, thus enabling both personal and professional development.
