Mechatronic Engineering

Mechatronic engineering combines mechanical engineering, electronic and computer engineering and software design to create intelligent machines, such as ‘intelligent’ robots and safer cars.

 

Are you curious, imaginative, active and inventive? Do you like team projects and problem-solving? Then the mix of electronic, electrical, computer, robotics and mechanical in this course will offer you plenty of opportunities to thrive.

 

You’ll spend over 50% of the contact hours doing hands-on, practical assignments, tutorials and project work in well-resourced, state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops.

 

You’ll study a wide range of subjects, from Algebra and Geometry, Professional Development for Engineers, Engineering and Electrical Science, Mechanics and Computer-Aided Design to Instrumentation, Design Methodology, Automation and Computer Networks.

 

Work Placement: You’ll have the opportunity to gain work experience through an industry placement at the end of Year 3, lasting 8-10 weeks.
