Cultural Intersections in the History of Art II
This part of the Cultural Intersections in the History of Art course examines the influence of different global cultures on the history of Western art from the medieval period to the twentieth century. Organised thematically, Dr Rachel Moss will consider how different factors such as religious conversion, trade and the age of discovery on artistic styles and techniques and introduced new fashions to Western art and architecture.
Rachel is an art and architectural historian with a particular interest in medieval Ireland. Her research has developed from doctoral studies in Romanesque architecture and sculpture to focus on the later medieval period, in particular the social context of medieval art and architecture.
