About the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology

The Graduate Diploma in Information Technology aims to provide you with a general professional qualification in information technology (IT). Broaden or deepen your knowledge of using computers. The core subjects provide you with a foundation in information systems, software development and computer networking.

You'll learn:

    • Use research and technical skills to test your IT solutions and learn how to prevent bugs, reduce development costs and improve performance.

    • Learn how to communicate professionally within the IT sector to ensure you operate aligned to the ethical and cultural values of the IT profession.

    • Understand and critique proposed IT solutions with technical and theoretical knowledge to plan and implement IT solutions effectively.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent).

Note: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry into all La Trobe courses is based on competitive selection and there may be limited places available.

English language requirement

Offshore applicants are considered for admission based on the stated course entry requirements. IELTS may be considered.

Fees and scholarships

Estimated course fees for international students

Estimated fees per year (2023):A$31 600 per 120 credit points.
Note: 120 credit points represents full-time study for one year.
