Laws (LL.M.)
Our flagship LL.M. programme also known as LL.M. (General) offers students the opportunity for postgraduate study where they can select modules from a substantial list of modules covering the disparate branches of law. Students can focus on public law or private law modules or may take a selection of both. The programme encourages independent learning and innovative thinking in a supportive academic community and attracts students from around the world. It will enable students to develop the skills to use appropriate legal theories, doctrines and concepts to identify, formulate, analyse and solve legal problems within national and international contexts and identify, evaluate and synthesise jurisprudential theories and concepts at a level appropriate to Masters graduates.
Is This Course For Me?
If you would like to learn about the world of aviation law, international trade law and privacy law while at the same time having the opportunity to study environmental law, Islamic law, refugee law and more, then this programme is for you.
It is important to note that students wishing to pursue one on of our specialised LL.M. degrees and gain access to those restricted access modules should apply to that particular LLM degree. These specialised degrees include LL.M (International and Comparative Law), LL.M (International and European Business Law) and LL.M (Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law).
Career Opportunities
This programme broadens and deepens students' knowledge of the law, further developing their research skills and significantly enhancing their career prospects both within the legal profession and elsewhere. Modules are delivered by full-time academics and practitioners to provide a comprehensive learning experience and skill set that can be transferred to future legal careers.
We encourage students to become involved in extra-curricular activities within the school and university to further enrichen their profile. Registered students and recent graduates are also supported through the Trinity Careers Service in developing CV writing and interview skills to reach their career goals.
