Through our Healthcare Markets and Analytics MBA concentration, you’ll become prepared to analyze and use health data to make managerial decisions.

Our MBA in healthcare management program teaches you to use decision-making algorithms that apply data to economic models. Your courses will focus on economics within the health care sector — an industry that accounts for more than one-fifth of the U.S. economy.

In this program, you’ll learn

  • How the health care sector is similar to, and different from, the rest of the economy
  • How the behavior of the health care sector adheres to and deviates from key economic principles

All courses for this program are offered in the evening on the Loop Campus. The program can be completed in two years.

The Kellstadt Graduate School of Business requires official transcripts from all degree-granting institutions. The admission committee reserves the right to request official transcripts from universities where an applicant attended but did not complete a degree. Please note that not submitting all transcripts where courses have been completed could impact course waivers.

Full-time MBA applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from a current or previous employer. Submit the letter through the online application or kgsb@depaul.edu. Be sure to include the name of the recommender and applicant's name on the letter.? ??

MBA applicants must also submit a professional resume that summarizes their work experience and educational background.?

Interviews are required only for applicants to the Full-time MBA program. The admission committee may require applicants to other programs to schedule an interview if necessary.

Concentration Requirements

This new MBA concentration focuses on how managers analyze and use health data to make managerial decisions. The MBA concentration is based on decision-making algorithms applying data to economic models that emphasize incentives that all the players in the health care system face.

The goal of this concentration is to provide students with a deep dive into the healthcare sector that enables students to become players in this extraordinary industry which accounts for over one-fifth of the U.S. economy.  The concentration complements the general training students receive in the other business disciplines, but will be focused on the defined area of economics in the healthcare industry.  The learning outcomes of this new concentration will expect students to identify and understand:

  • How the healthcare sector is similar to, and different from, the rest of the economy.
  • How the behavior of the healthcare sector adheres to and deviates from economic principles.
  • The crucial and ever-increasing role of data in guiding the decision-making of both the healthcare industry and policy makers.
