Learn from award-winning faculty

Cindy Durtschi, professor of accountancy and MIS, received the American Accounting Association Innovation in Audit Education Award for a case she published in forensic accounting. One of her focuses is on developing forensic accounting cases which she uses in the classroom to engage students with business practices while building their knowledge base through research.

Scholarships

Graduate school is an investment in your future, and Kellstadt awarded more than $3 million to incoming students last year.

The giving society of the School of Accountancy & MIS gives approximately $25k annually to students pursuing their master’s in Accountancy, Taxation, or Audit and Advisory Services. Additionally, DePaul and the Deloitte Foundation provide a limited number of full scholarships to MSAA students each year.

Audit and Advisory Services (MSAA) Admission Requirements

  • ? Submit your online application and the $60 application fee.
  • Submit an essay explaining your interest in the program and your professional goals.
  • Submit a resume that summarizes your work experience and educational background.
  • Submit your official transcripts from all degree-granting institutions you have attended.
    Please note that not submitting all transcripts where courses have been completed could impact course waivers.

?Note: The Master of Science in Audit and Advisory Services (MSAA) was previously called the Accountancy (MACC).???

??Course Requirements

Twelve courses are required to complete the Master of Science in Audit and Advisory Services (MSAA) degree. Of the twelve required courses, nine are required and three are selected from among business electives. Students may not repeat at the graduate level course material that was completed as part of their undergraduate degree. Please consult with an academic advisor for clarification.

Please note: ACC 547 AUDITING I, ACC 550 AUDITING II and ACC 640 ACCOUNTING THEORY AND POLICY FORMULATION are approved for credit only in the combined Bachelor's/Master's program.?

Degree Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of the 9 required courses and 3 required electives.
  • A minimum of 48 earned graduate credit hours applicable to the MSAA degree (waived credits are not considered earned hours).
  • Satisfactory completion of the college residency requirement.
  • ?All courses taken for credit toward the degree must be completed with satisfactory grades within six calendar years after the candidate's first term of enrollment in the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. After a lapse of six years, a course is expired. An expired course is not acceptable for the purpose of satisfaction of degree requirements and is not applicable to the degree without the permission of the faculty program director or the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.??
