Marine Biology Minor

The courses in the minor may be shared with major requirements. Students with a Biology major cannot declare the Marine Biology minor (they instead complete the Marine Biology and Ecology option in that major), and students cannot receive any combination of the Biology minor, Marine Biology minor or the Marine Biology and Ecology option. The minor requires the BI 221BI 222 and BI 223 or BI 204BI 205 and BI 206 series and at least one term of chemistry for required coursework.

The Marine Biology minor requires one or more terms in residence at Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC). Most students take a variety of courses during the summer term at HMSC. The 15-credit BI 450 course taught each spring term at HMSC is a possible alternative to some core courses in the minor but is by application only. The applications for BI 450 are available the fall term before attending the Integrative Biology Office.

For further information, see MyDegrees or the Integrative Biology website.
