LLM Advanced Legal Practice (SQE 1 and SQE 2) LLM

This course is suitable if you're aiming to become a qualified solicitor. It has been carefully designed to refresh your knowledge of core areas of functioning legal knowledge for SQE1 and to help prepare you for the skills assessments that are tested as part of SQE2.

As part of this course you’ll undertake core modules designed to advance your skills in Client Interviewing, Property Law and Practice, Wills and Administration of Estates Dispute Resolution, Criminal Litigation, Business Law & Practice and Advocacy. To complete the course you will undertake a Legal Practice Project.

Want to hear from the course leaders themselves? We're running an online event on Tuesday June 4th 11am-12pm where we will be talking all things Advanced Legal Practice. You can sign up for the event here.

A typical week for you will include weekly two-hour workshops across a variety of SQ1 and SQE 2 subjects. These are interactive and require a high level of preparation; in these workshops, you will develop your written and oral skills. The research project and dissertation are supervised by your tutor.

Compared to an undergraduate course, you will find that this master's requires a higher level of independent work. You will encounter a range of practical supervised and portfolio assessments across the course followed by an extended piece of researched coursework for your Practice Project.
