Postgraduate Certificate

Why Study / Key Benefits

  • Provides a recognised postgraduate qualification in a relatively short period.
  • Normally requires only one trimester of full-time study, equivalent to about six months.
  • Allows graduates to deepen knowledge in an existing academic or professional area.
  • Can help professionals upskill or specialise without committing immediately to a longer postgraduate diploma or master's degree.
  • Can support a career-development or career-specialisation objective.
  • In many subject areas, successful completion can provide a pathway into a Postgraduate Diploma or master's degree, subject to the entry and credit requirements of the next qualification.
  • Waikato offers a broad selection of PGCert subjects across its academic divisions.
  • Some specialist certificates offer flexible delivery, including online study.
