Program Description

The Graduate Certificate in Management (Certificate) Program seeks to attract college graduates who wish to hone their management skills or prepare for managerial roles. The program covers the fundamentals of managerial leadership in organizations. Students will develop competence in the basic knowledge areas required for mid-level leadership and management positions, proficiency in skills and practices that enable success in mid-level managerial leadership positions, and the group and interpersonal proficiencies that promote the success of an organization. The Graduate Certificate in Management (Certificate) will primarily be comprised of graduate-level management courses currently offered by the Department. One course from the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program will be required for the Certificate, and the remaining three courses in the Certificate Program are graduate-level electives for the MBA Program.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Certificate program, students need to meet the following qualification:

  • BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university.

Program Learning Outcomes

Certificate recipients will:

  • understand the practical and moral impacts of ethics on leadership success in modern organizations,
  • be conversant with the tools of managerial leadership, including self-awareness, creativity, communication, change management, conflict resolution, motivation, and team building, and
  • understand organizational and extra-organizational influences on human behavior in organizations.
