Program Description:

The Lean-Ergonomics for Manufacturing and Healthcare certificate is offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science.  Students must be enrolled as a graduate student and the certificate may be completed as a stand alone certificate or within the MSIHE or MSBME degree programs.  It can be completed through distance education. No GRE is required. This certificate program is to enhance the technical expertise in ergonomics and lean manufacturing. Students may also opt for a focus in healthcare applications within the certificate program.  Upon completion of this certificate program, the graduate will be knowledgeable in the utilization of ergonomics and lean manufacturing methods in industrial and/or healthcare environments.

Admission:

Admitted graduate students enrolled in a WSU degree program must complete a departmental certificate entrance form indicating the intent to be enrolled in the certificate program.  

Non-degree seeking applicants who plan to complete only the certificate must apply through the Graduate School.  Minimum criteria is a completed bachelor's degree with a 2.7 or higher GPA.  Preference is given to students with a 3.0 or higher GPA from a completed bachelor's degree in a STEM field.

  • Be knowledgeable in the utilization of ergonomics and lean manufacturing methods in industrial and healthcare environments
