Entrepreneurship Essentials Minor

The Entrepreneurship Essentials minor provides non-business majors with the skills and experiences necessary to start their own successful venture.  Courses focus on the fundamentals of business (marketing, finance, management) and on starting, commercializing and managing a new business.

Admission requirements:

Students must have already been admitted to a Wright State major program of study.  Students must have junior standing (at least 60 credit hours completed).  This minor is open to non-business majors only.  

Learning Outcomes:

• provide students with the skills and experiences necessary to start their own successful venture
• students learn how to evaluate and plan new business opportunities
• students effectively research and write a comprehensive business plan
• provide students with contemporary entrepreneurial experience by solving real business challenges and working with local executives.

• BUS 4000 - Applied Business Planning for Commercialization Credit Hour(s): 3
• FIN 2210 - Financial Management I Credit Hour(s): 3 or ACC 2010 Accounting Principles I Credit Hour(s): 3
• MGT 3100 - Management and Organizational Behavior Credit Hour(s): 3
• MKT 2500 - Principles of Marketing Credit Hour(s): 3
• MKT 4300 - Entrepreneurship Credit Hour(s): 3
• MKT 4720 - Small Business Marketing Planning Credit Hour(s): 3

Total: 18 Hours

*Students must complete the required courses for the Entrepreneurship Essentials minor with a cumulative GPA of  2.0 or better.
