Program Description

Wright State’s College of Science and Mathematics’ Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences offers a minor in Earth & Environmental Sciences for those students interested in supplementing their existing degree program.

Admission Requirements

Undergraduate student at Wright State University with a cumulative GPA of 2.0.

Program Learning Outcomes

Earth & Environmental Sciences minors should be able to:

  • apply knowledge of earth and environmental sciences

  • discuss earth and environmental topics including tectonics, earth materials, formation of the earth, earth history, the hydropshere, the atmosphere, and sustainability

  • identify common minerals and rocks

  • discuss environmental issues with scientific and lay audiences

  • describe earth cycles (e.g., the hydrologic cycle)

Select either the 1000-level series or the 2000-level series (8 credit hours)

Required courses


Select a minimum of 12 credit hours from 3000-level and above or other courses by EES Departmental approval.
