Program Description

The art history minor consists of ART 2110 and ART 2120, and four additional upper-level art history courses, for a total of 18 credit hours. To declare an art history minor, consult with your academic advisor and with the chair of the Department of Art and Art History. 

Admission Requirements

Students must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 and completion of ENG 1100 and 2100 in the Wright State Core to be accepted into the minor.

Learning Outcomes

  • Be able to conduct scholarly research in the field and demonstrate writing and critical thinking skills.
  • Have an understanding of the evolution of art history.
  • Have a detailed understanding of at least five periods and styles within the history of art.
  • Have integrated the study of original works of art into their scholarly practice.
