Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic) [For Working or Volunteering Paramedics]

Gain a qualification that integrates the knowledge and skills necessary for practice as a paramedic, while already working or volunteering in ambulance services and holding an Authority to Practice at EMT or above. You’ll learn through online teaching and block courses, including simulation, and you will apply and advance your practice in your current workplace. Study part-time and have up to six years to complete the degree.

Flexible study options

The paramedic programmes at Whitireia provide flexible learning approaches to support the achievement of qualifications that meet student and ambulance service needs. This flexibility is achieved through the use of ‘blended learning’, i.e., a combination of traditional classroom (face to face) learning, online learning and block courses.

Programme length is based on individual credit recognition; the degree must be completed within six years. Online learning and campus-based courses throughout.
