Latest Updates / Special Requirements
- The current programme has updated Marketing course titles/content compared with older Massey regulations. For example, the current programme page lists “Strategic Digital and Social Media Marketing” and “Marketing Strategy: Connecting Businesses to Markets”, so older course lists should not be treated as the current structure.
- Students must achieve a B- grade average across Part One courses to progress to Part Two.
- Students who have already completed at least 60 credits of postgraduate study with a minimum C+ average may not need to complete the Master of Management core course, but this does not constitute automatic credit; an approved alternative 30-credit course must be completed and special permission is required.
- The Master of Management is primarily a taught/professional qualification. Massey specifically recommends its research-based Master of Business Studies for students whose goal is progression to a PhD.
- Massey recommends that international students apply at least three months before their intended start date to allow time for admission, visa processing and travel arrangements.
International Student Visa Requirements
For international students physically studying the programme in New Zealand, the relevant visa is generally the Fee Paying Student Visa.
Current Immigration New Zealand requirements include:
- An offer of place from an approved education provider.
- Evidence that tuition fees can be paid, or evidence of an applicable scholarship.
- Evidence of sufficient living funds or an acceptable sponsor.
- Acceptable medical and travel insurance.
- Meeting health and character requirements.
- Demonstrating a genuine intention to study.
- Demonstrating the ability to leave New Zealand at the end of the stay.
- Students already holding a student visa must maintain satisfactory attendance and academic progress.
