The 180-credit Master of Management consists of a core component and Management subject courses.

Part One core:

• 152716 The Contemporary Workplace: Business Management and Professional Skills – 30 credits.
• This course introduces business management in Aotearoa New Zealand and develops professional business skills, tools, techniques, concepts, examples and case studies across business functions.

Part One Management subject courses:

Students choose 60 credits from the following 30-credit courses:

• 114702 Human Resource Management and Workplace Relations – organisational behaviour, employment relations, human-resource management and development.
• 152702 Advanced Strategic Management – strategic planning, policy formulation and implementation.
• 152704 Business and Sustainability – relationships between business, the natural environment and social/environmental sustainability; sustainability theory and implications for business policy and management.
• 152707 Leading and Changing Organisations – practices, methods and frameworks for leading organisational change.
• 152742 Health Systems Management – comparative analysis of healthcare systems from a management perspective.
• 152752 Project Management – theories and methods used in project management.

Part Two:

Students choose 60 credits from:

• 152810 Innovative Business Solutions – design thinking and solving managerial problems through transdisciplinary projects with industry partners.
• 152811 Organisational Behaviour: Connecting Organisations, Management, and People – organisational behaviour, people, culture, structure, external environment and organisational performance.
• 152894 Professional Practice – a professional action investigation in the student's subject area, which may be undertaken individually or in groups and assessed through written and/or oral presentations.

• The current programme is open to international students both on campus in New Zealand and online from outside New Zealand.
• The current programme page specifies a 12-month full-time duration for a Semester One Auckland start and 18 months for a Semester Two start or distance study.
• Progression from Part One to Part Two requires a B- grade average.
• Students with at least 60 postgraduate credits and a C+ average may be able to replace the normal core-course requirement with an approved alternative.
• Advanced credit may reduce the total amount of study to 60–120 credits where Massey approves the relevant prior learning.
• The Master of Management is not intended as a direct pathway to PhD study; Massey recommends its research-based Master of Business Studies for students whose goal is doctoral research.
• Some courses have restrictions against one another because of overlapping content.
