International Student Visa Requirements

International students studying the programme on campus in New Zealand generally require a Fee Paying Student Visa unless another appropriate visa category applies. Immigration New Zealand requires an offer of place from an approved education provider, evidence of tuition funding/payment, sufficient living funds, acceptable insurance and compliance with the other visa requirements.

For tertiary students, Immigration New Zealand currently requires evidence of living funds of:

• NZD $20,000 for each year of study where the study is for one year or more; or
• NZD $1,667 per month where the study is shorter than one year.
