NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills (Level 3) General Pathway
This programme is for students who aim to pursue development of their personal skills, capabilities, knowledge, and attributes to give the learner the confidence and strategies that will improve their ability to succeed at higher level studies and entry-level employment in engineering, uniformed services or another chosen field. The programme design and delivery will incorporate pedagogical principles and cultural practices reflective of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao M?ori, Pasifika cultures and their world views.
What you study
- Develop and expand your knowledge and understanding of their own and other cultures and values
- The tools to develop a personal goal-setting plan, and evaluate their unique qualities, skills and strengths that define their rangatiratanga.
- You will gain the skills and knowledge of basic programming concepts and techniques. Learners will evaluate the qualities and strengths that define their rangatiratanga.
- This course provides learners with the tools, techniques, and skills in identifying problems, finding and communicating solutions. Learners will also gain knowledge about probability and statistics.
Career opportunities
- The programme is designed to develop learners’ core communication, problem solving and decision-making skills within the context of their selected educational and/or employment pathways, and develop their ability to work in groups and consult with people from other cultures. This will provide a great pathway to higher study or employment.

- This programme may lead to higher level study in a qualification such as:
- New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Skills (Level 4)
