What is the Course about?

The BA (Hons) in Accounting is a three-year course that prepares graduates for a global career in accounting and business and the pursuit of professional accounting qualifications. This course is accredited by various professional accounting bodies and boasts maximum available exemptions for those students wishing to pursue a professional accounting qualification. Further exemptions are available with the Irish Taxation Institute allowing graduates the opportunity to pursue various roles in taxation.

 

Accountancy is the language of business and the accountancy profession plays a pivotal role in delivering essential professional services and advice to all sectors in the Irish economy. Course Structure

The course is structured around four key specialisms, namely: Accounting, Taxation, Finance, and Audit & Assurance, where basic accounting, analytical and problem-solving skills are developed.

 

The first year of this course includes a range of fundamental business modules ensuring that students acquire the necessary foundation knowledge, skills and competencies in both accounting and business acumen before specialising in the core accounting modules in years 2 and 3 of the course.
