Residential Retrofit Site Coordination (Certificate L6, 20 ECTS)
The aim of the Certificate in Residential Retrofit Site Coordination programme is to up-skill building workers and crafts to develop knowledge and skills that allow them to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient carbon-neutral retrofits to existing residential buildings whilst complying with Ireland’s current Building Regulations. The programme will assist workers and installers in making the right decisions when undertaking retrofitting works to existing residential buildings. Particular focus will be on the coordination and monitoring of the retrofitting work, specification of energy and carbon reduction measures, risk assessment, and quality assurance. This will provide learners with the relevant knowledge and skills to operate in this particular sector and ensure such buildings undergo retrofits in a safe and sustainable manner.
Graduates may be employed as retrofit site coordinators (clerk of works) within residential retrofit “One Stop Shops” or with residential retrofitting SME’s providing energy and carbon services within the residential sector.
