Module Content: Background to Advance Care Planning, ethical and legal issues, implementing an Advance Care Planning Programme.

Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:

• Critically discuss the rationale for Advance Care Planning
• Delineate the steps involved in undertaking Advance Care Planning and completing an Advance Care Directive
• Critically evaluate the ethical and legal issues that arise in relation to Advance Care Planning
• Understand the process of systematically implementing Advance Care Planning models in Long Term Care settings.
