BA (Hons) English as a Second Language (3rd & 4th year entry)

This exciting degree programme is designed for second-language speakers of English who have an interest in English language and linguistics.

 

The programme aims to assist students in their progression towards proficiency in English. It helps them develop transferable skills, which will enable graduates to work more comfortably in the English language, to deal with international customers and partners, and to gain confidence in seeking employment in an English-speaking environment.

 

The programme also offers an opportunity to those who intend to train as TESOL professionals and teach English in the UK or internationally to develop these skills through the optional Theory and Practice in English Language Teaching Module.

 

Classes develop languages skills through group discussions, presentations and reading and writing tasks. Lessons use a combination of the latest English language resources and authentic materials.
