This is the first common core module for all of the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice award pathways offered by London South Bank University, providing an important opportunity for shared learning.
Advanced clinical practice continues to be widely debated with a multitude of influences, including policy and workforce imperatives, the changing interface between healthcare professional roles and responsibilities, medico-legal concerns, and the challenges to maximising autonomous practice. The concept of four pillars of advanced practice is now advocated by all four countries of the United Kingdom, namely Clinical Practice, Management/Leadership, Research and Education. This module will emphasise the importance of the latter three aspects to advanced level practice, using the premise that four pillars underpin and enhance each other.
