Caring for Children and Young People with Acute Neuroscience and Craniofacial Conditions (GOSH/LSBU

For all modules and courses the applications portal will close 4 weeks before the start date. All applications must be submitted and funding confirmed before the portal closes. Any applications that have not been processed and or do not have funding confirmed from the sponsor organisation before the portal closure will not be accepted by the IHSC administrator staff

 

This module aims to provide students with an opportunity to develop their in depth knowledge, skills and competence when caring for children and young people with neurosciences and craniofacial conditions in relation to current research, clinical guidance and national policies.  This module will enable students to enhance their clinical practice within the neuroscience and craniofacial care specialty. A key aspect of this module is the learnt clinical application of theory into practice, as well as, practical clinical skills in neuroscience and craniofacial care. This module encourages multidisciplinary working and promotes the sharing of skills and knowledge between professionals. The module content will be delivered by clinical experts in the field and improve collaborative working and the sharing of expertise. Students will become competent and confident practitioners in the care of all children and young people with neuroscience and craniofacial conditions.This module will empower students to examine and evaluate their clinical practice to neuroscience and craniofacial care delivery. A key aspect of this module is the learnt clinical application of theory into practice, as well as, practical clinical skills in this specialty

 

Aims of the module:

  • To gain in-depth knowledge and enhance competence in the care management for the acute deterioration of children and young person with neuroscience and craniofacial conditions. 
  • To further develop student’s clinical expertise by critically debating current research and practice in the care of children and young people with common neuroscience and craniofacial conditions.
  • To ensure effective care provision and clinical skills are supported by evidence based practice and in line with professional boundaries.
