Caring for Children and Young People with a Renal Condition (GOSH/LSBU Partnership) (Level 6)
For all modules and courses the applications portal will close 4 weeks before the start date. All applications must be submitted and funding confirmed before the portal closes. Any applications that have not been processed and or do not have funding confirmed from the sponsor organisation before the portal closure will not be accepted by the IHSC administrator staff
This module aims to provide students with an opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and competence in relation to children’s renal care. This module enables students to contribute to their development and improvement of clinical skills and knowledge within children’s renal nursing. It is undertaken through a work based approach and is student managed with tutorial support and guidance from the module co-ordinator. This module of learning has been designed to allow each student to define their learning relative to their own area of practice and expertise within children’s renal nursing.
Aims of the module:
- Examine current levels of professional practice and competence within an inter-professional working environment
- Develop new knowledge and skills and enhance competence in the care of children and young people with a renal condition, based on an analysis of the evidence in line with professional and occupational boundaries
- Demonstrate and work within professional and regulatory standards when developing and/or extending skills
