For all modules and courses the applications portal will close 4 weeks before the start date. All applications must be submitted and funding confirmed before the portal closes. Any applications that have not been processed and or do not have funding confirmed from the sponsor organisation before the portal closure will not be accepted by the IHSC administrator staff

 

This module examines the different roles within the multidisciplinary team (MDT) caring for the child or teenager with cancer; to enable the student to gain a better understanding of the whole pathway, including MDT meetings, complex discharges and communication sharing across sites. Expert speakers from a range of paediatric oncology specialities across the UK will share their knowledge with students. To support the students in their continuing development, this module also aims to clarify and develop a deeper and broader understanding of their role within children's cancer care. The module also focusses on the long-term side effects that this patient cohort face as survival rates improve, and these patients live longer than ever before. The content covers patients from 0-17 years old and students will be from all areas of clinical practice across the UK working with children and teenagers with a cancer diagnosis. The majority of the content is delivered online live, to enable access to paediatric and TYA oncology education to students who are further afield, with an optional onsite day.
