This module will enable practitioners to develop and enhance their knowledge and skills pertaining to anatomy, physiology and physical health care in clients with mental illness. It provides an opportunity to understand the relationship(s) between physical and mental illness and develop the required skills to deliver holistic and individualised care in this challenging area of practice. The delivery is underpinned by empirical anatomical and physiological principles and evidence based theory and practice. The overarching aim of this module is to enable practitioners to be able to prevent, detect, assess and manage physical health conditions experienced by individuals with a mental illness.
