This module aims to develop competence in 12-lead ECG interpretation. Students are provided with the theoretical knowledge and practical experience needed to diagnose common problems including arrhythmias, heart blocks, ischaemia and hypertrophy. The role of the ECG in patient management is evaluated, and current treatment options appraised. There is an emphasis on the practical application of skills, and clinical decision-making.
The module can be taken as an option in the BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing Practice (Cardiac Care) or as a stand-alone module.
