Professional Insights - The Role of the District Nurse (Level 6)

For all modules and courses the applications portal will close 4 weeks before the start date. All applications must be submitted and funding confirmed before the portal closes. Any applications that have not been processed and or do not have funding confirmed from the sponsor organisation before the portal closure will not be accepted by the IHSC administrator staff

 

This module will enable the student to consider the challenges and opportunities that exist when leading teams. Students will explore research, theory and literature about leading service and organisational change in contemporary health and social care provision. They will explore strategies for leading interprofessional and multi-agency working to promote individual, family and community health and well-being. The module will also provide opportunities for the student to explore ways in which the district nurse leads the learning, development and competence of members of the district nursing team.  

 

Students will consider the factors required to lead person-centred, safe, effective and efficient care delivery in line with contemporary health and care policy and legislation. Using research, literature, policy and legislation students will consider the implications for leading and embedding change in the district nursing service.
