International Student Visa Requirements

The PGCertTESOL is delivered entirely online, so an international student who remains overseas does not automatically need to obtain a New Zealand Fee Paying Student Visa merely to study online.

If the student intends to travel to New Zealand to undertake study, the appropriate visa depends on the student's circumstances. For a Fee Paying Student Visa, Immigration New Zealand currently requires, among other things:

• An offer of place from an approved education provider.
• Evidence of sufficient funds to pay tuition fees, or an acceptable scholarship.
• Evidence of sufficient funds for living costs or an acceptable sponsor.
• Acceptable health and travel insurance.
