The most significant current update is that UC's Science Qualifications page marks the Professional Master of Engineering Geology as “not open to enrolments”.

This creates an important distinction:

  • UC's programme page remains online and continues to display the historical/current programme structure, entry requirements and 2026–2028 fee information.
  • UC's current Science qualifications page explicitly identifies PMEG as not open to enrolments.
  • Therefore, a new international student should not currently plan an application for PMEG without first receiving confirmation from UC that admissions have reopened.

International Student Visa Requirements

If UC reopens the programme and an international student receives an offer for full-time study, the usual New Zealand Fee Paying Student Visa requirements would apply.

  • Acceptable medical and travel insurance.
