The NZ Certificate in Pharmacy (Level 3) at NZMA provides foundational knowledge and skills for working under the supervision of a pharmacist, with a focus on patient-centred care, safe practice, communication and retail pharmacy operations.

Industry Placement

  • ~90 hours of on-site placement in a real pharmacy to apply theory in practice, gain workplace experience and build confidence.

 

Disciplines / Specialisations

This course focuses on introductory pharmacy practice and retail pharmacy support. It does not split into majors, but acts as a foundation for further study such as NZ Certificate in Pharmacy Technician (Level 5) or continuing into advanced pharmacy roles.

 

Exclusive to NZMA, students may also benefit from guaranteed interviews with industry partners (such as retail pharmacy chains) to support part-time employment during study when opportunities are available.
