Certificate in Early Childhood and Care (Level 4)
Whether you are employed, a volunteer, or not currently working in early childhood care and education and would like to gain a recognised qualification, you can pursue a fulfilling career in early childhood education while you study.
You'll learn child development, observation, learning and play while putting your skills directly into practice to deliver quality learning for our tamariki. You will also learn to develop communication skills to build relationships with children, parents, family and colleagues.
You’ll experience the best of both worlds with a unique combination of only 12 hours per week on campus and flexible learning from home. This means you can work and study at the same time if you choose. Plus, during your studies, you'll have the opportunity to gain real-world experience through a 4-week work placement.
This qualification meets with Ministry of Education requirements and by 2025, all home-based educators must have this qualification. It is internationally recognised so you can travel and work as a Nanny or Au Pair and provides entry into our Diploma in Early Childhood Education Level 5 programme.
Graduates can work as:
-
a nanny or au-pair
-
an educator in home based, centre-based and hospital-based ECE services
-
as an ECE play-group coordinator
