What is civil engineering?
Civil engineering is behind how our modern towns and cities work. Civil engineers design, construct, maintain, upgrade, rehabilitate and repair major infrastructures used by humans while protecting the natural environment. The industry plays a key role in designing infrastructure that can help tackle the climate change emergency. This course will ensure that you have the technical and management capability to contribute effectively to the civil engineering environment.

 

As part of this course, you’ll:

• Gain the academic knowledge to prepare for a career in civil engineering
• Be taught by staff with a broad range of industry experience in subjects including structural engineering, water engineering, geotechnical engineering, project management and highways engineering
• Take part in practical work and laboratory study
• Have the opportunity to gain a full degree by progressing onto the final year of our BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering course
