Food Security Major (MSc AgriFoodSecur)
This major will allow candidates to acquire essential knowledge and skills related to food security and associated land management sustainability, in relation to agricultural systems, aquaculture systems and food science. Food security will become of increasing concern into the future and there is an urgent need for food production and manufacture to become smarter. The program will cover the science and technology of crop and livestock production and food manufacture to achieve sustainable production against environmental constraints. Specific skills developed within the program include soil health and the use of alternative fertilisers, aquaculture food security and food product development. A research project in an area relevant to agricultural systems, food science and food security is an important component of the program.
