Employment Relations
Employment relations is a field of practice within the broader human resource management profession that focuses on effective workplace relationships.
This specialisation covers the relationship between the employee and the employer, and the influence of unions, employer associations and the government.
You’ll study the formal framework and theory of employment relations, forms of negotiation, dispute resolution, the Fair Work Act, anti-discrimination legislation and health and safety laws.
You’ll get to interact with real companies, learn from case studies and case law, and experience scenario-based assessments, so you’ll be ready to apply what you’ve learned as soon as you graduate.
You will be exposed to recent changes to the workplace relations arena and the Government's industrial relations tripartite review. The gig economy, precarious work and the casualisation of the workforce will also be explored.
