Agriculture Extension Specialisation

This specialisation will enable students to build and expand on knowledge developed through the Agricultural Science major, providing a solid grounding in crop, pasture and animal science. You’ll also develop effective problem-solving and decision-making skills within the professional context of the agricultural industry.

What you'll learn

  • Have demonstrated further and expanded knowledge and understanding in agricultural science that is typically at a level that, whilst supported by advanced textbooks, includes some aspects that will be informed by knowledge of the forefront of agriculture, GC1
  • Can apply their further and expanded knowledge and understanding in a manner that indicates a professional approach to agricultural science, and have competencies typically demonstrated through devising and sustaining arguments (to both specialist and non-specialist audiences) and solving problems within agriculture, including using digital technologies, GC2, GC3
  • Can gather and interpret relevant data within agricultural science of study to inform judgements that include reflection on relevant social, scientific, or ethical issues, including being aware of the diversity of international perspectives associated with agricultural science, and how these impact upon the practice of agricultural science, GC4, GC5
  • Display a high standard of professional behaviour, including effective time management, both independently and as a team member, GC6
