This specialisation is suited to design-oriented students who are interested in 3D design and its application to interior design.

It provides an introduction to the tools of the interior designer, demonstrating how interior space is conceived using the different elements that comprise an interior.

You'll examine narratives of occupation, use and making, as embedded in designed products that constitute the interior. Through exploration and testing, you’ll create a prototype object that has purpose and feasibility for the design industry.

Emphasis is placed on future-thinking and finding simple ways to communicate narratives of construction, use, and occupation. Practices of environmental sustainability are also considered.

You'll also get to work with experienced interior architects to explore the strategies you can use to brand and market yourself as a designer.

What's a specialisation?

A specialisation is a set of four units you can choose to complement your course. Most Curtin courses allow you to choose a specialisation from any academic area.
