Master of Public Health
Key changes in population characteristics, such as an ageing demographic, along with an increased focus on mental health and the rise of lifestyle-related diseases like obesity, are reshaping the public health landscape. These changes, together with an increased focus on preventative healthcare and the global impact of crises like pandemics, have led to a surge in demand for public health professionals who can think critically, act quickly and drive real change across communities.
The Master of Public Health – innovative, interdisciplinary and future-focused – will prepare you for a dynamic career dedicated to preventing disease, promoting health and addressing health-related issues in our globalised world. The degree’s strong research focus also affords you the opportunity to progress into a Master of Research or a PhD, either in an area of faculty expertise – advocacy, economics, infectious diseases, nutrition, physical activity and more – or in a field of your choosing. All this will take place alongside – and supervised by – world-renowned leaders at Australia’s only fully integrated health sciences centre, Macquarie University Health.
