Master of Planning

The Master of Planning degree has been designed to equip students with the professional and scholarly education to take a leadership role in statutory town planning practice as well as policy development.

The Western Sydney University Parramatta campus location in the centre of Sydney’s population growth area represents a rich urban laboratory in which to explore the most important urban issues.

The Master of Planning is a two-year program in urban and regional planning and is accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia. The program equips you with professional and scholarly education enabling you to take a leadership role in statutory town planning practice as well as policy development.

It has a strong emphasis on research rooted in social sciences and in the fast growing Western Sydney region. The program work includes learning and training in history and theory, governance, professional practice, economic development, sustainability, transport planning, spatial analysis and legal frameworks for planning.
