English for Groups

English for Groups

  • What it is: A customisable English programme for student groups such as school or organisational groups, designed around specific needs.

  • Location: Dunedin campus

  • Delivery: On campus

  • Duration & Intakes: Flexible (2 weeks up to 1 year) with custom start dates depending on group requirements.

  • English requirements: None – tailored to group ability.

  • Certificate: Students receive a Certificate of Achievement upon completion.

  • Benefits: Combination of English language learning with cultural experiences and tourism activities in NZ.

  • Study breaks: Scheduled breaks in March and July 2025 are examples of past offerings.

Who it suits: Schools, teams or groups wanting to combine English learning with cultural exposure.

 

Business Management & Marketing (School of Business)

Otago Polytechnic’s School of Business offers pathways from certificates to degrees in business and applied management:

Bachelor of Applied Management

  • Level: 7 (Bachelor)

  • Duration: ~3 years full-time

  • Credits: ~360

  • Delivery: On campus (Dunedin and Auckland)

  • Intakes: Multiple per year (Feb, Apr, Jul, Oct)

  • Content: Core management and business knowledge with electives. Includes internships and industry projects.

  • Career outcomes: Business management roles, leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing positions, analytical and strategic planning roles.

  • Entry: Secondary school completion; pathways available for students needing IELTS or preparatory study.

Marketing/Sales Electives

Business degrees allow choice of “Sales & Marketing” electives that cover:

  • Digital marketing

  • Strategic marketing planning

  • Consumer behaviour

  • Marketing communications

  • Practical industry placements
